Paul Stenhouse is a Senior Structural Geologist with SRK Consulting (UK) Ltd in Cardiff. Paul has more than 10 years’ experience in the application of structural geology to mineral deposits, with project experience in a variety of commodities and geographical areas. He has contributed to mineral projects at all stages of exploration and development from grassroots exploration to feasibility studies. Paul’s principal area of expertise is the analysis of structural controls on mineralisation at the deposit to regional-scale. His work primarily concerns applying structural geology concepts to a wide range of issues including: 3D modelling of structurally complex ore deposits, regional to near-mine exploration targeting and structural characterisation for resource estimation, geotechnical and hydrogeology studies.

SRK Master Class: Talk 2 - Data Collection for Mine Design

Core orientation and structural logging

SRK Master Class: Talk 3 - Deposit Geology and Structure

Integration of disparate data sets to create a holistic geological model and construction of 3D geological models as frameworks for geotechnical and hydrogeological analyses

Session 8 - Implementing innovation in mineral exploration

Integrating the old and the new: Modern approaches to structural geology and its impact on geological modelling and resource estimation

Case studies from several mineral deposits around the world are presented and used to explore how an understanding of a project's structural geology influences the resource estimation process; and what new technology is available to assist the geologist in developing this understanding.
